Sad:(

My one year old computer crashed yesterday and is now in the hands of Tekserve. This happened to me last year on my laptop - but a pretty much brand new computer?? Oh, the pain of a lesson learned. Back up your computer asap, people.

When I bought my iMac two years ago the same thing happened. I had it for about 6 months and the hard drive was toast! Lost everything and no one at the Apple store was that sympathetic for my loss. I had to have a new hard drive installed, which luckily was under warranty because the replacement cost would have been $750. I lost everything. After that I bought an external for backup. I feel for you.
