The First Ever Contest at L&H!

So it's not so much as a contest as a giveaway - a freebee, a come & get it. As you may know, we are participating in a pre-Emmys gifting suite in LA in three weeks. The PR company for the event is sending out some editor teaser baskets and asked us to contribute. We needed to send them out there asap, so I came up with this little gathering of goodies: a notepad, a pack of note cards and our die-cut gift tags. While I am happy to get our name out there - I couldn't help but think that our gifts might go unused or unappreciated. Gasp! So I decided to offer up three of these little sets (one each) to the people who read & know & perhaps like our work - via a blog-like "contest". And since we're a relatively new kid on the block and because I'm a big fan of feedback, I'd like to use this as an opportunity to hear what you think of our work or my blog or both. So - here's the deal: leave a comment with some feedback (specific or general - doesn't matter) by Sunday at 8pm, and I'll pick three random names and announce the winners on Monday. Don't forget to at least leave your name in the comments section so I can get in touch with you for shipping. Good luck! And thank you in advance for your comments!

Ugh. Sorry I deleted my previous post.

I knew I'd love your blog as soon as I saw your banner! I love your use of color and pattern. The liners are especially terrific.

I love reading your blog for a daily burst of color. It is also very intersting to hear where you find inspiration. It would be good for your bloggers to hear about your frustrations as a small business owner as well.

Pre-Emmy's?! That's awesome - congrats! I like pretty much everything that you produce, but I really like the way that your clients' personalities shine through your work - the oyster shell, the gingerbread house etc. Everything is so unique & has a different feel!

there's a great mix of not only mainstream (the J.Crew post, celebrities paddleboating), but a little of the lesser known goodies out there. a great mix of design, paper fun, textiles, etc keep things interesting!

I love all things paper so I love your blog. Excellent work!

Congratulations, they're going to love you!

Feedback, hmmmm... how about the fact that my zig and lace notepads are often the best part of my business meetings? And the zig zag in citron is fantastic. Have you thought about doing cards in the teal and fuchsia also? I do miss the gray lace notecards though...

What I love most about your products is how fresh + unique they are. I especially love your moose, cows, + pigs, as well as all of your floral + zigzag designs - gorgeous! I have one of your '08 calendars and so enjoy looking at it each day.

I also really enjoy how you mix professional + personal life stories in your blog. It's nice to get to "know" the person behind the lovely designs.

I went to Kate's yesterday evening and asked for L&H, they didn't have it. When will it be in stock? I was v. disappointed!
Glad to see things are going so well.

Just have to pipe in here. Love the comments, everyone.

Ryan - currently, Kate's only carries our custom album. But with your inquiries and our go-get-em gusto, we just might make it happen! Will obviously keep you posted:)

I knew it was good to be a celeb. I want free stuff from you! I love your work.

I love the zig zag print so much, btw. Makes me happy when I see it!

I'm a fairly new reader of your blog. I love your store and blog. The papers you carry are amazing. I have found that when I buy a notepad or notecards I can't bear to write on them! So I end up being a notecard-hoarder.

I enjoy all your products for some of the same reasons other readers have mentioned (fantastic use of color, pattern & application of whimsy) BUT my *favorite* thing about ordering L&H products is the sweet "thank you" tag that arrives with every package. I have all my "thank you" tags hanging on the bulletin board at home-everyone likes to be thanked once in a while!

I love your products and I love your blog because it helps to remind me to find the creative side in me and to recognize the beauty in the simple pleasures right around me... like interesting shapes, beautiful tablecloths, etc.
It is so refreshing to read something so uplifting and calming at the end of my day...and as you know--- your notepads make kickass bathroom passes.

I really enjoy your blog, but I have to tell you, I've gotten so many great compliments on your 2008 calendar. Everyone who walks into my office asks about where I got it and if there's going to be one for next year. I'm so excited to buy your 2009 version!

I first found your website when searching for wedding inspiration. Your blog has been a fixture in my Google Reader ever since. I love that your posts are all original - I won't read the same thing here I see on other crafty/paper blogs. Thanks and keep up the great work.

Well, you may not remember, but late last year I "discovered" your wonderful products and website through Daily Candy and definitely made a purchase--something for my friend for Christmas and something for myself. Once a week or so she tells me how much she loves the letterpress calendar I gave her, and I have so much of my moose notepad left because it's almost too good to use up! Thanks for sharing your simple but classic and beautiful designs with the rest of us! :) Great job on the blog, too. Although I don't comment every time, I read every post. Good luck on the triathlon!

How could I resist posting too?!?!?! Liz, I love the blog, I enjoy your thoughts on color and patterns and it is always fin to see what your guys are up to in the more commercial print world!

big congrats on the emmy nod! :)

as i just finished writing out and putting two of your greeting cards in the mail to friends, i thought i best post and let you know i love your product and i love your blog.

your blog has been inspirational to me, in my just starting with a blog, in that i like how you put a mix of personal and business ... it sort of helps me know it's okay to do the same and still keep readers attention.

{ps ... i miss your ironman updates!} {pss ... i think it'd be so awesome for you to honor your mom at the event. the feeling of knowing you are doing it for a purpose and to push yourself to get through it knowing you are honoring someone who's gone through so much more ... priceless!}

I love reading your blog and seeing bits of your process and what inspires you. I'd love to read more about the business side of everything and some of the challenges you run into with owning a small business...I love the use of color and pattern in your products and get compliments on your calendar anytime anyone walks into my office :)

Hi,
I purchased your calendar and I love it. I hung all of the months in a row in my office at work. The current month sits on my desk. I get enjoyment out of it almost everyday and I look forward to changing it each month. Can't wait to see what 2009 will look like.
