Tomboy Style
How did I not know about Tomboy Style?! Such a great blog. A friend sent me the above trailer for the upcoming book, which I can't wait to get. All my favorite girls in the world fit one or more of her tomboy archetypes. I love this.
Thanks for the tip, T!

Birthday Card from Anthropologie

Check out this super cute candle necklace birthday card sent from Anthropologie to Jean Aw of NOTCOT. And because well, one, it's her birthday, but two, because she signed up for the store credit card! That's my kind of perk.

Blog Facelift and... Tweet.

It's been a while since I have updated my blog, so while I had a little time last night, I changed the header (our new Chandelier design) and added a few new blog reads: simplesong, bluepoolroad, Yellow Owl Workshop, Style Me Pretty, Smitten Kitchen, oatmeal & cinnamon, simple pretty and Oh So Beautiful Paper. These are all great blogs & voices of some seriously talented ladies.
And finally - I've caved. I'm now on Twitter. Which I was nervous about at first - but in my whopping two days on there, I'm pretty excited. I like to share personal photos & little tid-bits on here - but sometimes it doesn't quite feel appropriate or relevant that I think the women on The Real Housewives of New Jersey are complete train wrecks & that I stay up until 11pm watching them crash & burn. So, if you're on Twitter, follow me @lindaharriett. And if you're not - sign up! It's kinda fun.

Inspiration: Children's Books

I'm working on my Big Ideas Small Studios collaboration piece for the NSS this year - which is all about nursery rhymes (stay tuned for more on this) and am feeling so inspired by the childrens books that Julia Rothman features on her blog, Book By Its Cover. She has a Children's tab that is full of gems for the little ones. Shown here are images from A is for Rhinoceros, alphabet cards by Julie Morstad, and An Awesome Book.

Green Wedding Shoes & hanging paper

I recently discovered Green Wedding Shoes (where have I been?) and found these sweet hanging paper shapes. Forget having them at a wedding - I want these around me in my studio. I love them!

New Blog Love: Eating is Art

I found Eating is Art from Katy Elliott & frolic! and I am hooked. Designer/blogger Tricia has opened my eyes to a new way to look at food. She has an 'eating design' studio called Taste Matters. (Tricia describes eating design as using food to communicate stories, ideas, or messages.) One of my favorite projects was her recent Favorite series, where she chooses a person (living, not-living, fictional, real, present or not present) and creates a full sensory experience relating that person and food. She chose her brother for this one. It's very touching. I highly recommend reading more here.
