Bellboy NY in Men's Journal

My good friend Mat of Bellboy New York made a beautiful chair that is prominently featured in this month's Men's Journal Perfect Things article. His chair is the most comfortable wooden chair I've ever sat in. It practically begs you to stay a while -- grab a drink, come sit, relax, everything is just fine.

We are super lucky to have had Mat help us out with the hanging mechanism for our soon-to-launch Quilt Calendar. Stay tuned for that in just a couple weeks!

Anya Hindmarch: The Bespoke Collection

Anya Hindmarch is a UK designer known for her super cool & classy collection of handbags and accessories. Last fall, she launched her Bespoke collection, which I have only really heard about through my sister who lives in London. The collection isn't available online yet & while there aren't many images of it out there either, there is this great video of Anya in shop, where she talks about her desire to move away from the seasonal It Bag & shows you some of the amazing customizable options of the collection. Seeing this video not only makes me want to hand write something to be inscribed inside a luxe-leather-something, but it also makes me want to beam myself there right now just to touch everything. It all looks so gorgeous. I'm sure the pieces are not cheap, but what a fantastic idea. Take a look at the video here.

I love this print by Nate Duval. (The desktop calendar version he did for design*sponge is free & right here.) Last year, Nate designed three greeting cards for L&H. I must think of a way to collab again. He's so talented.

Steven & Vera

I have a problem with searching for things I need/want (here, gloves & flats), keeping the webpages open for days as a reminder to order them & then never following through. Today, I'm closing the tabs for these Steven Alan "glittens" and these super cute red Vera Wang ballet flats. This blog posting might just be an extension of this habit, but it's making me feel better already. $330 saved!

Queen B Studio: Vintage Linen & Tartan Dishtowel

While we were at the Shipley Shops last week, I had the pleasure of meeting fellow exhibitor Susan of Queen B Studio out of Washington DC. Susan just started using tartan in her work and I love the results. This dishtowel ($35) is made from heavyweight vintage linen & tartan - and right up my alley - a little bit country, a little bit preppy. I had to get one. I bought one for myself & one for a friend. I have mine on my stove right now, but I could see getting another one for the bathroom to hang on a hook. Nothing worse than dainty bathroom hand towels that don't even dry your hands. This would be so much cooler.

Mok Duk

We got the coolest Save the Date in the mail yesterday. I emailed the bride-to-be right away to ask who had done them. It was MOK DUK, the studio behind illustrator/designer Anne Benjamin. I'm totally in love with her whimsical, very story-book-sweet illustrations. Her style reminds me of my very favorite wallpaper by Lizzie Allen.
